My patents had very little money, but knew some people going to the US in November one year. They got me all four Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles , at a time when they were THE toy and all the shops had sold out. I was ecstatic - and to top it off it was the only time if every been THAT kid at school that was the envy if everyone.

Happy days, being a kid at Christmas. Being an adult with kids at Christmas is just stressful!

My brother got the Bionic Man toy and I was upset as I got his enemy Maskertron (sp?).

However, turned out mine was the better of the two as you could use his limbs as missiles then reattach them. Also, his face would come off and you could replace it with either a Steve Austin or Oscar Goldberg mask.

A small Indian Manservant, I cant remember his full name, but his initials were DJ and I had hours of fun tying his turban to passing cars and watching him spin like a little brown Gyroscope.

Such innocent fun for an 8 year old, I miss his screams.

Raleigh Chopper MKII - loved that bike but suffered a few injuries, the thing would speed wobble at anything over 20mph and no helmets back then.

Race 'n chase with working lights - poor mans scalextric.

Lotus skateboard - that was a let down, whilst my mates were belting past with their gullwing trucks and kryptonics, my old lotus would never roll more than 3 yards without another push, my old man always went for value over fancy names.
